Designing a kitchen requires planning, which is the most crucial step as it involves not only the placement, but all the technical steps involved. If done with consideration and expertise, you can design a beautiful kitchen that can make your home look incredible.
Usually, while designing, people use inches for measurements, but it is strongly recommended that one should take the measurement in millimeters (mm). Generally, people in Pakistan does not know how to take the measurement in mm, but using the unit is quite simple. If you see the inch tape used for measurement, you will see it as two sides, inches and centimeters. Just turn the centimeters side as one centimeter is equal to 10mm, which means you must add only zero for example, if its 10 cm on the tape, you can add another zero then it will become 100mm. This unit will help you design your kitchen with more accuracy than using the inches. Let’s look at some cabinet sized in mm for a better reference.
TALL UNITS
For tall units, you can use 300MM, 350MM, 400MM, 450, 500MM AND 600MM 450 for pull out and for oven and microwave, you can use 600 MM. It should be noted that the width of these units should not be more than 600MM, but you can make two swing doors and expand the width to 1000MM to 1200MM.
BASE UNITS
The standard sizes you can use are 300MM, 350MM, 400MM, 450, 500MM, 550MM, 600MM, 700MM, 800MM, 900MM, 1000M. The maximum size of these cabinets should be 1200MM and should not exceed.
WALL UNITS
Wall units are similar in size like base units which are 300MM, 350MM, 400MM, 450MM, 500MM, 600MM 800MM, 900MM, 1000MM. Similarly, these should not exceed 1200MM.
It may look technical or more work than working in inches, but it may help you build a better kitchen in the long run.
